Annual Report 2012

Corporate responsibility

In Finnish Industry Investment's view, the mission set for it – permanently and sustainably promoting the development and growth of Finnish companies, jobs and wellbeing – can only be fulfilled by addressing corporate responsibility issues, both in the company's own operations and by helping portfolio companies operate responsibly in their own roles.

Principles for corporate responsibility

Finnish Industry Investment's operations are guided by an annually adopted investment policy, the company's risk management policy, an Impartiality Instruction, an Insider Instruction, an Instruction for Notification of a Concentration, and by responsible investment principles. FII is a member of the Finnish Venture Capital Association (FVCA) and the European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (EVCA), and follows the guidelines of these associations concerning ethics and corporate governance.

FII is a member of FINSIF – Finland’s Sustainable Investment Forum. Founded by a group of Finnish investors, asset managers and other investment professionals, FINSIF aims at promoting responsible investment taking into account factors related to the environment, society, and corporate governance.

Responsibility is part of FII's operations in two ways: the company acts responsibly and requires its portfolio companies to act responsibly in regard to environmental, social and governance issues.
